"Gilbert Hicks has been a tremendous asset to our district, implementing successful academic plans," Paul Cruz, chief schools officer, said. "We are pleased he has accepted this new role as we work to prepare our students to be ready for college, career and life."
In his new role, Hicks will provide support to Cruz and work closely with the associate superintendents in the schools office.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to further help the district fulfill its mission as a public education institution to serve all students," Hicks said. "I look forward to ensuring a school culture that promotes long-range, continuous improvement."
