Next week, ¼öƬapp invites families and community members to a public hearing and to two community meetings regarding the potential 2013-14 Annual Academic and Facilities Recommendations (AAFRs).
The meetings are part of AISD’s ongoing effort to gather input and feedback from families and community members about the potential AAFRs, which the district’s Board of Trustees will consider during their Dec. 17 meeting.
Child care and interpretation services will be provided at the meetings.
Monday: AAFR Public Hearing
The public hearing is the second of two AAFR public hearings held by the district to receive public feedback. Families and community members wishing to speak during the public hearing may sign up Monday, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Delco Activity Center.

Wednesday: Dual Language Program Expansion
AISD’s dual language program promotes the development of bilingual, bicultural and biliterate students, who learn a combination of English and Spanish, or another global language.
What: Presentation regarding potential dual language program expansion, as well as a community-focused discussion.
When: 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 28
Where: Garcia Middle School cafeteria, 7414 Johnny Morris Road
Thursday: South High School
In 2008, voters approved a bond program that authorized AISD to purchase land for a future south high school.
What: Presentation regarding the potential academic scenarios for a future high school in South Austin and community-focused activity to address future academic programming options for the school.
When: 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 29
Where: Bowie High School cafeteria, 4103 Slaughter Lane
