¼öƬapp volunteers will conduct a block walk to reconnect with Austin families to learn about their education needs and priorities––as well as welcome more learners to its family of schools.
Who: ¼öƬapp teachers, staff and community volunteers.
What: ¼öƬapp teachers, team members and community volunteers will participate in Operation Reconnect, a door-to-door campaign to reconnect with families and share information about district program offerings.
When: Saturday, April 10 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Volunteers will meet at the Nelson Field parking lot, 7105 Berkman Road, at 8 a.m. for a brief orientation. Volunteers will then depart for the walk to designated neighborhoods.
The focus of the event is schools in the northeast corridor of the district. Focus campuses include:
- Elementary - Andrews, Harris, Pecan Springs and Winn.
- Middle - Garcia Young Men's Leadership Academy and Sadler Means Young Women’s Leadership Academy.
- High - Northeast ECHS.
During the operation, volunteers will share information about the district’s world-class programs, including:
- Free prekindergarten.
- Fine arts.
- Robust enrichment programs, which are available before and after school.
- Free career preparation programs such as Pathways in Technology.
- Early College High Schools.
- Engaged 21st-century learning experience.
Volunteers will be using personal protective equipment to safely participate.
